PVC Buying Guide

So, you need to buy PVC and not sure on what Grade/Application you need to use?

Well, you’ve come to the right place, this guide will talk you through each aspect of what you need to consider when buying PVC.

The main aspect to consider is what you’re going to be using the PVC for, each grade of material that we offer has a different purpose. Although ‘Standard Grade’ is our standard product and has no added attributes.

Fire Retardant

The name perfectly sums this one up, fire retardant is used in places where heat or fire may be involved, it is recommended for all applications which require superior fire resistance over and above our standard product range. Fire Retardant PVC complies with international regulations such as EUROCLASS, M1 classification, B1 classification.

Polar Grade

Polar Grade PVC is most used within cold environments, polar PVC had different attributes to standard PVC which allows for the PVC to survive and be more effective within colder environments. Its highly insulating thus reducing energy costs and in return this will save you money. Commonly found within Cold-rooms, Cold-chain environments, Freezer Environments, Slaughterhouses, or anything that requires the cold to not leave the area. (Used down to -25 degrees)

Anti-Static

Anti-Static is a high static dissipative material this means that its “anti-static” (could you have guessed that!) It avoids sparks and all other damages resulting of static electrical charges. Antistatic strips doors and partitions can be used in varied applications such as, explosive atmosphere (mining, chemical sites, laboratories, etc…) or in static electric sensitive areas (datacentres, electronic part factories, packaging, any industry that must deal with open-sourced electricity would benefit from this type of product.

Transparent

Transparent PVC holds all the great Clearway qualities of standard PVC, but it can come in different form of colours this can be used in many ways. Example: if your branding colour is yellow then you can design your destination on the colour yellow including the PVC strips. Its very commonly found in the colour red as warning markers, this prevents large vehicles such as fork trucks or lorries from being to close to danger as the red strips act as a deterrent from the large vehicles (If you’re touching the red strip, you’re in danger).

Opaque

Opaque PVC is a general purpose; it holds all the qualities of standard PVC with the added benefit, but it is opaque you cannot see through the product. We have found that a lot of industries do use this product as a privacy partition or in the agriculture sector and even in slaughterhouses.

Food Contact

Working in the food industry? This is the perfect product for you, food contact PVC holds the superb Clearway qualities, but it has been created with the food industry specifically in mind. Food Contact PVC complies with European regulation (1375/2004/CE and EU-10/2011). Food Contact PVC is particularly recommended for food industry applications where fresh or frozen produce is present, such as food production plants, slaughterhouses, refrigerated trucks, cold storage, supermarket.

Anti – Insect

Stop – Insect does what it says on the tin, it stops insects… It is mostly used with industries that must deal with insects or want to prevent insects in the establishment. It acts a repellent for insects, it will repel 80% of all mosquitoes from going near the PVC but if they were to make it onto the PVC the mosquitos would die instantly.
